Terms of Service

They apply to visitors of caringminds.ng and to people who use the CaringMinds mobile app: parents and caregivers, therapists, contributors, and CaringMinds staff. Caring Minds Therapy is based in Lagos, Nigeria.

Content on the website and in the in-app library is general information about our services and about supporting children. It is not a substitute for professional assessment, diagnosis, or individualized therapy advice, and it does not guarantee a particular outcome for your child.

The app is a care-continuity tool. It helps families stay connected to the people supporting a child — parent-visible goals and updates, home activities, care hours, payments, and a message thread with an assigned therapist.

It is not an emergency service, not a social network, and not monitored as a crisis line. If someone is in immediate danger, contact your nearest hospital or emergency services. You can also call 0802 229 7137 during Consultations: Mon-Sat, 9:00 a.m.-5:00 p.m..

Parents register for themselves. Therapists join by invitation or by creating a therapist account; using the app does not make a therapist an employee of CaringMinds. Staff (admin and contributor) accounts are for authorized users only. One person has one role.

You must provide accurate details, keep your password private, and tell us if you think someone else used your account. You are responsible for activity under your login. We may suspend an account that is misused, unsafe, or used to access another family’s information.

Only a parent or caregiver with authority to act for the child should add that child’s profile. By adding a child you confirm you have that authority, and you agree that CaringMinds may use the details you share to deliver care, as described in the Privacy Policy and the in-app child-data consent.

You may also add optional background details and supporting documents (for example a report or school note) so CaringMinds and an assigned therapist can prepare. Those files are part of the child’s care record.

Therapists may see a child’s care record only while they have an active assignment. When an assignment ends, that thread becomes read-only and the therapist can no longer open the child’s record. Internal session notes are for the care team and are not shown to parents. A parent may delete a child profile in the app; that removes the child’s record from ordinary use, subject to backups and legal duties described in the Privacy Policy.

Each child has one care thread per assigned therapist. Messages are for check-ins about that child’s support, not for unrelated chat, marketing, or emergencies. Do not send information you would not want stored as part of the care record.

You keep ownership of what you add — for example profile details, photos, listing text, certificates, messages, session notes, and child documents. By submitting that content you grant CaringMinds a licence to host, display, and use it to operate the website and app (including showing a published therapist listing to families, and showing a child’s record to people assigned to that child).

You confirm you have the right to share that content and that it is accurate. We may hide or remove a listing, photo, or other content that is misleading, unsafe, or breaches these terms.

Booking a CaringMinds consultation or buying care hours creates an agreement for that purchase. Fees and what is included are shown at checkout. A consultation request is not confirmed until payment succeeds and CaringMinds confirms the time.

Care hours are for real-world support between a family and an assigned therapist. Therapists record time in the app (including clock-in and clock-out). Parents can review those entries. Hours and rates shown in the app are the basis for what a family pays and what a therapist earns.

Shop purchases on the website are for the product described at checkout. Digital items are delivered as described after payment. Payments in the app and on the website are processed by our payment processor (currently Paystack). We do not store full card numbers. These purchases are for real-world care and products, not for digital consumables sold by Apple or Google.

A therapist’s public listing appears only when they publish it, and typically after CaringMinds reviews the certifications they upload. Listings help families find support; they are not an offer of employment by CaringMinds, and they do not guarantee that a particular therapist will accept a request.

When a therapist records approved care time, earnings may be credited to their in-app wallet. CaringMinds pays therapists on a monthly cadence using the bank details they save in the app. Payouts are initiated by CaringMinds, not requested as on-demand withdrawals. Bank verification and transfer timing depend on our payment partners.

If you allow notifications, we may send service alerts — for example a new message, a care update, or a clock reminder. You can change notification preferences in the app.

After a working relationship ends, a parent may be asked how the support felt. Ratings help CaringMinds improve matching; they are not a public review board.

You agree not to:

• impersonate another person or share another family’s care information
• try to access accounts, children, or records you are not authorized to see
• use the app or website to harass, exploit, or endanger a child
• copy, scrape, or resell CaringMinds content without permission

We work to keep the service available and to protect information as described in the Privacy Policy. The website and app are provided as a support layer around care. We are not liable for outcomes of therapy, for advice given in a session, or for delays caused by networks, payment providers, or events outside our reasonable control.

Nothing in these terms limits liability that Nigerian law does not allow us to limit — including for fraud or for death or personal injury caused by negligence, where that applies.

We may update these terms and will post the current version on this page. Continued use after a change means you accept the updated terms. If we need a new acceptance, we will ask for it in the app.

These terms are governed by the laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. If a dispute cannot be resolved directly, Nigerian courts have jurisdiction.
